A statement piece for Spring, A SLEEPING SAMURAI® presents the "HAPPY FLOWERS" cap. This must-have six-panel baseball style hat is crafted from pure cotton fabric in on-trend corduroy black, and a slightly curved visor. This exclusive piece will be released in limited numbers, featuring a single multi-coloured HAPPY FLOWER embroidered on the front of the cap. With the A SLEEPING SAMURAI® logo embroidered in yellow on the back of the cap.

The "HAPPY FLOWERS" cap is a strictly limited release – only 100 pieces of this exclusive design will be released, ensuring you will own a rare statement of style.

THE STORY

I walked passed the Casino de Monte-Carlo and became fascinated by the flowers in the garden. I wondered how the aesthetic of the garden would be changed if the gardeners had planted flowers in different colours. By the time I'd reached my breakfast destination my mind had wandered onto a potential flower design where each flower was itself multi-coloured and smiling. A real "HAPPY FLOWER".

On this occasion I'd forgotten my iPad and my paper and pencils and so I had to resort to sketching my ideas on the coffee shop napkin. At this stage I'd not got any particular piece in mind, just the idea was forming of a "HAPPY FLOWERS" collection. And so I put pen to paper and an initial sketch was created. Over the coming weeks, the sketch was refined with hearts for the eyes, representing our brand message of "DO YOUR WORK WITH LOVE. THE OUTCOME WILL BE LOVEABLE.™"

While in Monte-Carlo, I was engrossed in creating my "HAPPY FLOWERS" collection and so I then started to explore the possibility of creating a cap that had high-end, almost couture luxury at its heart. Something completely different. A cap in all-black soft corduroy cotton, with the new "HAPPY FLOWER" embroidered on the front and with yellow accents on the bottom of the visor and in the A SLEEPING SAMURAI® logo on the back of the cap.

The shape of the cap would mirror our existing baseball-style cap with a curved visor for extra comfort. I would then need to search for corduroy cotton material that could be used to give that luxury feel. The same feeling I felt when in Monaco. Once the corduroy material was found I was able to get samples produced and then put the cap into full production of just 100 pieces.
